I am leaving this list. I should have left a long time ago when BOXDN did, but I thought it might improve. Obviously it hasn't, and now my home state is the target, so I will take that as my invitation to leave...
maybe some day some of you will learn some manners...
Gosh with people like you out on the trail maybe I will start carrying a gun!!! Seems like the worst of it resides right here!

I guess when you have 2,600 members, there's bound to be a
disagreement. I wasn't involved in that particular discussion, but
I regret that there was cause enough for someone to leave the
group. Let's try to remember that we all have our opinions (however
strong they may be), and that other individuals also have the right
to theirs.
Peace,

We all acknowledge that it's the ones that leave in a huff that refuse
to accept it. Why are you trying to coddle people like that anyway? If
you can't accept that there are people in the world with opinions
different than yours you have no business on an Internet chat list.

OK, I just had to pipe in.... (BTW>.. I haven't seen any of the flaming posts.... I missed them somehow.. perhaps while I was on vaca in RI?)
Flaming is all over the mailing lists, not just the LBNA list. I'm on the geocaching list as well, since I log any geocaches found while letterboxing. I posted to the list about a problem with a letterbox being turned into a geocache by geocachers mistaking it for a letterbox (even though it said letterbox right on the lid). The stamp was missing, box left in disarray etc.... And I got totally flamed for it. (don't flame me here please!! ;-)
It's not just here. There are rude and inconsiderate people everywhere..... If you truly want to leave the list, I'm sorry to see you go. Perhaps there is a local letterboxing mailing list you can join? I find that those are much tamer... perhaps since there are less people on them..... (??? thoughts anyone???)

I don't believe making disparaging remarks regarding someone's
exercising their civil rights is particularly funny. While this
certainly is one of your civil rights to do so,I'm sure you wouldn't
consider it very funny if the discussion centered around returning
to former voting procedures and going back to men only, or whites
only. We do have some constitutional guarantees, and thank god for
them. Why continue to be devisive? How about returning to the
purpose of this list?
